This
week I've been drawing a lot of cats. I started with simple sketches and then I
started using techniques I’ve learned from Mark Crilley’s videos (shading,
texture, detail, etc.). I’ll attach some photos to my next reflection. I’ve
also been practicing eyes—starting with cats’ and then shifting over to humans’.
The whole purpose of me choosing to learn to draw realistically was to improve
my human drawings, so I’m selecting animals to practice and then taking a
feature of theirs that is similar to a human’s and just focusing on that (that’s
what I did with the eyes). It’s making humans seem less intimidating.
