This week I started learning the basics of German. Actually, I had already started learning German over the summer, but I did not go very far. I am using an app on my phone called Duolingo. It's a free app that lets you learn a variety of different languages by teaching you and testing you at the same time. It is great that I found this app because I sure don't have the money to buy Rosetta Stone or any other expensive language programs. I also wouldn't have chosen to learn German for twenty percent time is is wasn't for the app.
Now I am just going over what I have previously learned so it is fresh in my mind. I am learning the basics, such as how to say "I am good", which is "Ich bin gut" in German. I also learned other simple sentences such as "Sie isst das Brot", which means "she eats the bread". Overall it is pretty simple to me, so far. It is kind of similar to English but it still takes a bit to get used to. I actually find it easier than learning Spanish which I have been taking for many years now. I just hope that it continues being easy for me so at the end of this project I can hopefully know enough to read, speak, and write somewhat in German.
