The past week has been very hectic for me, considering I had two short-term yet large projects and a couple test and quizzes along the way. Technically, I started my 20% Time on Monday, September 29th. However, all I have been able to do thus far is sit down and talk with my father about the electronic board I would need to control the LEDs, speakers, and motors on the wolf. He is going to be ordering from Arduino for a single-board microcontroller that is open-sourced so that I can program it myself and a model of RABBIT MiniCore for the Wifi connection. I very possibly may be able to control the wolf's movements from my phone, depending if I can find some kind of compatible app on Google Store. I also scoped out my local Home Depot to see what type of material I should make the skeleton of the wolf. Wood seems to be a little heavy and splinters if it is too thin. However, I'm not given much alternative. Plastic only sells in oh so many shapes, and Styrofoam wouldn't work at all. In the end, it comes down to picking a particular kind of wood. Originally, my father wanted to buy pine wood to cut cost, but personally I think pine's useless. It will splinter and break under any weight. I will start on the physical building of the skeleton this weekend.
Wish me luck!
