This week on October 31, 2014, I began my twenty percent time session by reviewing the words I learned on October 23rd. After I reviewed that set of words, I proceeded to learn the following: “future,” “far in the future,” “back when…,” “now,” “today,” “finish,” “knock it off,” “hot,” “cold,” the two versions of the word “pizza,” “milk,” “hamburger,” “hotdog,” “egg,” “apple,” “cheese,” “drink,” “spoon,” “fork,” and “cup”. My personal favorite from this set was “knock it off” because I think that this word is one that I will use most often considering I have an older brother. These words are important to learn because they can be used anywhere and practically everyday (e.g “now,” “today”...). Patterns I continue to see is the pattern of memorizing, and the pattern of having the alphabet playing a big part in a lot of words, primarily the letter C. For example, “drink” and “cup” not only do these words need a letter from the alphabet to communicate them, but they both need the letter C. I believe that this week I have done well in memorizing and reviewing the set of words previously mentioned. Next, I will continue to memorize basic words in ASL.
