For the second week I spent my time trying to figure out what programs will help me animate in the form of animation that I was trying to do. There is one Youtube channel name Slamcow or Slamcow creations that releases videos to how he creates the videos he makes. In these video's he explains what programs he uses and what kind of things he had difficulty with. He explains what kind of problems he faced in making the things he wanted to happen work, and how he solved the problem using the program in the video. I will be referencing his youtube videos for help in my attemps to use this program as well as in editing my own videos to come. Hopefully the programs that he uses will also work for my own computer at home and will be able to handle all the processing that it takes to make these videos.

Reflection 2

Apologies for the late post. My project is going well; fencing is an even more interesting sport than I had imagined. I have been reading the books I borrowed. One really interesting chapter from By the Sword by Richard Cohen is about Helene Mayer, "The Womand who Saluted Hitler." She was a foilist prodigy who represented Germany in many Olympic games, starting in 1928, and her father was Jewish. I haven't finished the chapter yet though.Yesterday was my first lesson with my friend, and I learned how you're supposed to stand and move your feet. I find very it interesting how the different kinds of fencing have different origins. Epee, for example, is supposed to resemble a "real" sword fight more than the other weapons, because it is heavier and used to stab people anywhere on the body. Sabre, on the other hand, resembles more battle on horseback. Slashing or stabbing is legal for this weapon, but hits to the leg are illegal because it was considered dishonorable to hurt another man's horse.

Reflection 2

This week, I've gotten started with coding my theme by using the codes of several completed themes as references for how a theme code should look. I'm also using tumblr's official tutorial on coding as well. With the completed themes, I try to look for components that are consistent with each of them, which I assume to be standard for all codes. Basically, I learned that a theme has three parts: the meta tags part, which affects the appearance options on the customize page, the css section, which controls the look of the theme, and the html section, which allows the blog content to actually show up on the page. Once I had all that information down, I opened up a blank notepad page and started typing the first section of my theme. I've only gotten as far as the meta tags section, but I hope to add more soon. I think something I will begin to do in the future is plan out on paper what I want to add to the theme so it doesn't end up with me staring at the screen for a long time trying to figure out what to code next. Also, I need to figure out how exactly I want my blog to look so I plan specifically towards achieving that look.
