Reflection 10 & 11- More food
Once again, two reflections in one. I have taken up all of the past two weeks to make even more food. Originally it was going to be for a contest, but I changed my mind. Here's a lot more of the food I worked on. Thanks to all of this, I have really grown to like working with a mouse (rather than a tablet, or traditionally)

once again, please no stealing, these are my images and the like! (shoutout to ms.schreiber who keeps reminding me to put a disclaimer)
Among others we have here:
pancakes, wurst, churros, fairy bread, pizza, pretzels, kebabs, pierogis, taco, taquito, waffle, flan, hamburger, fries, fish and chips, and a fortune cookie. The two I missed in the first picture I literally can't remember the name of, one is a soft dessert from India, and the other is a cabbage leaf wrap from Turkey.
I made these with the intent of creating a poster with a 'World Food Day' theme!

Reflection 8- Going off???
I can't do the same thing for a while, so I stopped. I edited over 5 whole photoshoots during the past few weeks, freelance photography be like, and now I need a break. So, I decided to start working a bit with illustrator instead, doing some practice with digital drawing. Thus far its going great, and I'm making lots of food out of pixels. The only good kind of Chef I could be.
Reflection 6 & 7- HYAAAAAAA
As I try to be more creative with my titles, I try to be more creative with my editing. I did a lot of LINK editing, all included here as one post because it took me about two weeks to find time to do them all. So, here we go:
And Navi, the little blue fairy in the top picture was also made by me. I can't find my original drawing, its hiding somewhere in my files.
Once again, these photos are mine and I claim all the right, please no stealing and the like! :)
The second picture was a pain- I did a lot of work with creating shadows and having to edit the lighting on the photo. I'm really happy with the quality of the photo though, kudos to my past self.

Reflection 5- Photoshop brush party
A lot of this week was me cleaning out my computer to make room for more photoshop brushes. I downloaded a lot of snow, blood, smoke, and other ones to mess with in the future. Most came from googling it and finding some on Deviantart.com, and all give permission for commercial and personal use. I need to make sure to save where I got them from just in case. Getting the brushes to work was a bit of a pain, but after some googling and calling a friend, I got them all in.
Reflection 4- Editing Specifics
For the next few weeks I plan to pull out a few specific projects and work on them. Today I did a little editing with Jack Frost and snow.
The most important thing with pictures is being able to crop right- I'm looking at this a bit later and noticing a lot of places where I could have improved it, but for a first snow job, I think it's alright.
disclaimer- these photos are mine

Reflection 3 - Quickie
So, I tried out a quick edit recently, I used a picture of a river from online:
and I used it to fill in some of the water in the original picture. I had about half an hour to do this, finished in about ten to fifteen minutes. It was a quick job, but I'm fairly happy with it.

Most of the quality is thanks to the camera, and the fact that the lights weren't too much of a pain. It looks a bit rocky, but I also edited a few plants in the back to where you can see a walkway and garbage can/ light thing.
I hope to do some fire edits or the like soon, so I'm going to start researching that.

Reflection 2- Tips and Hints
Today I spent my 20% time googling tips and tricks for photoshop editing. It worked out really well, and I got a lot of good tips and filters through it. A lot of them were mainly keyboard shortcuts, which I need to try and memorize at some point.
I made a document I'm putting and will be adding on all the helpful websites I found. Next class I want to do two things;
-organize a photoshoot to start editing with
-organize files to make more room on my computer
-download some more brushes
I also started edited one picture in between the first and this reflection, which I really like, it just needs a few more fix ups.
Reflection #1- Photoshop brushes will save your life
First day: I went hardcore.
I downloaded some smoke brushes and decided to go ahead and try to edit a photo of a friend dressed up as a character of a show. Essentially, she has wings that have to look like borderline fire, but not exactly. Today I focused on trying to make them, without using any tips or help from any internet sources or the like.
[Result will be posted in the next Reflection due to uploading problems]
Next time I'm going to start collecting data and tips online on how to work some photoshop magic.

Proposal- Photoshop Galore
For this twenty percent project, I'm going to be doing some photoshop.
I've done photoshop in the past, and basics aren't easy to forget, but I want to practice doing large photo editing projects, especially with pictures I've taken myself. This'll be a borderline photoshop and photography project, where I'm going to focus on getting better with both.
So, my plan is:
-Look up tips online
-Check out different photographers and photography blogs
-Do some editing on images I have
-Edit at least two big scale photos (as in edit the background and everything included)
-Edit a photo focused just on facial features and the like
-Check out some sketchy online photoshop and photography classes
-DO WORK!
My final goal is to complete at least 5 pictures that I'm happy with, that look nothing like the original picture. I'm going to use my personal laptop and photoshoots to work on this, as well as the internet to check out some helpful resources. It'll be hard to be patient, since editing a photo can literally take hours, but it'll be easy to get used to it, since I've done it in the past. I will be doing work both in and out of class, considering I have all my materials available at home. Wish me luck!
