reflection 15

Presentations are in a week. I have no time to lose. During this in class time, I'm going to work on my drawings. For my final drawing, I have decided to draw a portrait of someone. I know it's going to look bad, but I also know it won't be terrible. After I finish my final drawing, I will start working on my presentation. I'm hoping I get all of this done before Thursday night so I don't stress too much before I have to present.

reflection 14

I volunteered myself to go first during presentations so that I can push myself to finish my project and make it the best it can be. There are so many events coming up and so many other projects that have to be done from other classes. Presentations are next Friday, so there is no time for me to waste. I'm planning to get a lot done on Wednesday because I don't have much time any other day. Next weekend, I'm definitely going to start my final drawing and hopefully it'll be done by next Friday.

reflection 12

There are only 3 weeks left before presentations/finals. Time is ticking away at this point, so it's time for me to start putting my all into this project. To be honest, I didn't do anything that I mentioned in my last reflection. I really need to stop procrastinating, especially because time is going by so quickly. On Saturday, I won't be as busy so I'm hoping to do a few drawings to get it out of the way. I also need to start thinking about what I want my final drawing to look like. I am determined to finish my 20% project as best as I can. I need to start preparing now before it's too late. Planning is KEY!

relection 11

Now that there is nice weather, I've been spending a lot of time outdoors. I haven't spent much time on my 20% project in the past week. However, since I usually just walk around during co and do nothing, I will start bringing my sketchbook to school and drawing whatever I can during co. Even this upcoming weekend will be busy, I am determined to work on drawing eyes and improving as much as I can. Looking at the calender I see there are about 5-6 weeks left before finals, which should give me plenty of time to finish everything I mentioned in my last reflection. I'm still excited to see how much I've improved during all of this.

reflection 10

Since we're already half way through the marking period, I've realized how much time I've wasted. I already have a few drawings of the entire human body, therefore, over the next few weeks I'm going to focus on just eyes and hand because those are the parts of the body that I'm worst at. From one of the YouTube videos that I've watched, I'm going to split up a paper into 4-6 parts and practice drawing an eye over and over. That is the best way to improve on a specific skill. The amount of time I want to spend on each part is about a week, so if I have time after I continuously draw eyes and hands, I will work on lips and face shapes. I am still undecided on what I want to draw for my final product and I hope that all this hard work pays off in the end.

reflection 9

Looking back on my first 20% time project, I realize that I'm making all the same mistakes. I am determined to stop procrastinating and really work towards making this project the best that it could possibly be. This week I watched a few videos but didn't really do much. I usually leave drawing to Friday nights but it has been a really busy weekend. I found that there are a lot of different way to do the same thing and what I'm gonna try to do is try all of them to see which way works best for me.

reflection 8

Although this week wasn't as easy as I imagined it would be, I was still able to find some time to finish my uncompleted drawing. I change my mind on uploading pictures because at the end of this I want everyone, including myself, to be surprised by all the progress I will have made throughout this project. With all the videos I have been watching on YouTube, I kind of want to go in a different direction with my drawings, but I have to stick with what I first proposed. I still have plenty time, so I think towards the end of this semester, I will start drawing more abstract things utilizing the techniques I've learned with drawing normal people. I'm working on time management, and this week it has gone well. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep it up so I can have the greatest outcome for my final product.

reflection 6 & 7

The second time around, I should have organized myself better to beat procrastination. Ten days off from school is a long time. Although i did not accomplish much for my final project, all this time didn't go to complete waste. I helped my brother with his spring break project and drew people's portraits. Even though, they were terrible, it was somewhat a bit of practice for when i continue my project. This upcoming week should be a little bit easier and the work load shouldn't be too bad, so i will use all my extra time to catch up on my project. I am determined to have my existing drawings completed by the end of this week and I will be sure to put up pictures whether they are actually done or not.

reflection 5

Like I mentioned last week, time management is going to be my biggest enemy. I managed to work somewhat on my drawing, however, it is still not completed. Since I am traveling to Florida for a few days, it'll be difficult to continue my drawing. When I get back, I have no excuse to not finish my uncompleted drawing along with finishing about 3 more. That is my goal over spring break. The list that I mentioned last week will consist of a page of each main body part. For example, face shapes, eye shapes, lip shapes, ears, and hands. From one of the videos I've watched, I learned that the best way to practice things that need improvement is by consistently drawing it over and over again until I can draw it without using a reference. I am eager to accomplish a lot over the break.

reflection 4

Time management is going to be my worst enemy throughout this project. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to finish my drawing or to make the list of things I have to accomplish along the way. Hopefully after this week is over, everything will die down since spring break is also next week. So, I will have a lot more time to focus on my drawings and get myself back on track.

reflection 3

I haven't finished the drawing from last week yet. With all the projects going on this week in all my other classes, I couldn't find the time to work on my drawing. Time management is definitely something I'm going to have to work on. With the 4th marking period approaching, finding time to work on my drawings will be difficult. I will have to start setting short term goals to keep myself from falling behind on my project. In addition, I also forgot to write the list of what I need to accomplish, so I will include that in next week's reflection along with my finished first drawing.

reflection 2

This was such a busy week. With this time I have in class, I'm going to continue working on my project. Drawing the human anatomy isn't as easy as it seems. Everything has to look proportional and realistic, which takes a long time to do. Later tonight, I will continue working on this drawing since this is the one I'm going to look back on later in this project. I need to clearly plan out and write a list of all the things I have to complete in order to keep myself on track. Next week, I will post this list, along with a picture of my first drawing.

reflection 2

Although we didn't have in class time for 20% this week, I started my first drawing, which looks horrible, and hopefully it'll be complete in a day or two. Earlier this week I researched different techniques and different types of pencils that are used and for what. I found out there are a lot of factors that contribute to the outcomes of the drawings. My first drawing is the outline of how to draw the basic proportions of the human anatomy. After I finish this drawing, I will set aside another page or two for simple drawings of faces and hands so that I can look back on it later on during the project. My plan is to start focusing on smaller aspects, like the face, and then narrow it down to features like the eyes.

reflection 1

This week, my goal is to get all the supplies that I am going to need for my project. This weekend I will stop by AC Moore to buy a sketch book and drawing pencils. I am going to use my 20% time this week to find websites that can help me improve when I actually start drawing. In addition, I'm going to watch a few YouTube videos to see how I can get started. I'm excited to see the outcomes of this project. I plan to have my first drawing done by next week.

second semester 20% time proposal

My twenty percent time project is to learn how to draw realistic figures like human bodies and faces. I will be working on this independently. My audience will be the class. This project will be worthwhile because I've always loved drawing and since entering high school, the opportunity of having art classes was taken away. In the end, I will have improved on a skill that I have left behind. I expect to learn how to stay dedicated to something and how to be patient. At the end of the year, I will have a slideshow of all my drawings to present to the class. I will have to go out and get supplies at AC Moore, including a new sketchbook and drawing pencils, which shouldn't be too expensive. I plan to work on a different aspect of the face/ body every week or so, then combine everything I worked on to make a full portrait or human body. Since this is something I really want to do, it will be easy to keep myself dedicated to working on this project consistently. The only hard part will be keeping my patience during times when I feel like I can’t get things right. I will work on this project both inside and out of school.

reflection 15

This week I focused on working on my video for my presentation. I ran into a few obstacles while continuing it. When I started it, I remembered that the videos from when I first started, were on my flash drive that I misplaced. So, I had to remake those videos, and then continue to record the final videos for my completed tricks. In addition, I went to the gym for the majority of my free time this week. I've lost a lot of body fat and gained a lot of muscle weight. I am excited for everyone to see how much I've improved over the months on my soccer tricks.

reflection 13/14

I am late on one reflection, but now that the holidays are almost over, I will definitely get back on track. During these two week, I haven't got much done to be honest. But I started my video before break, and I still have three weeks until the presentations. That is more than enough time to put everything together. My goal for these next three weeks is to go to the gym everyday and work on my tricks to see how much better I can get them.

reflection 12

Over the weekend, I took a few shots of me doing the tricks i have learned so far. There are many videos in which you can clearly see that i am still struggling. I think those would be great for the final video in my presentation to see how far along i have come. The holidays are coming up and i am hoping to keep myself going and practicing during these times so i keep making progress.

reflection 11

Since presentations are right around the corner, I started making video clips of everything I've learned so far. I found a video of when I first started out and it's amazing how far i have come. My skills have drastically improved, if I keep this up i couldn't even begin to imagine all the things i could accomplish months from now. I'm really excited to see my final results. This week was also successful, and i'm so proud of how much progress i'm making and have made.  My next goal is to keep working hard and pushing myself through the break. However, I feel like it would be better to continue improving on the three things I know now instead of learning more for a while.

reflection 10

This was by far the best week. I can actually see the progress I am making by going to the gym and practicing more at home as well. It wasn't such a busy week, therefore, I had a lot of time to work on the rainbow. As a result, I finally got it right, but it's not completely consistent. I have three down, and a lot more to go. In addition, I've had a lot of spare time to go to the gym and I have built a lot of leg muscle and lost a lot of overall body fat. The next trick I definitely want to learn is the milkshake. It uses all parts of the body and I feel it would be challenging and fun to learn.
